In today’s economy everything has increased in price and everyone feels the increasing burden. Through out the years I’ve tried to find ways to made some ‘side’ money without too much effort involved. Life is busy, majority of us already work a full-time job as it is. Some has came with great success and some have not. I’ve tried a wide range of apps from scanning receipts, to playing games. The ones that seem ‘too good to be true’ usually are. In this blog I’ll share the apps that have worked for me. Now, this won’t be enough to quit your full-time job BUT it will help get the Starbucks on the way to work or help fill up the tank in your car.

1. Google Opinion Rewards – Easy
The common phrase “just Google it” come into play with this app. Based on your Google searches you’ll randomly get surveys. A lot of them are 1 question and done. Some of them require a little more but the more questions the higher the payout. Usual payout is $0.10 which doesn’t seem like a lot but if they are all one questions – 10 of those = $1. Payout to PayPal starts at $2.00 and will automatically be paid out, which makes that process easier. Another perk is its a low payout. Who doesn’t use Google these days? As much time we spend mindlessly scrolling answering one question doesn’t take that much time.

2. Macadam – Easy
An app focused on what EVERYONE does — WALK
One of those apps you just leave running in the background and let it work. The only catch is you have to “cash out”, slide the bar by 11:59 to get credit for the days steps. There’s increments on earnings based on far you walk. The higher the step count the higher the ‘coins’ get. There is other ways on the app to earn extra coins like watching short advertisements, doing survey’s, playing games. Overall this is a fairly easy app to earn extra coins just by doing what we do everyday. Just got to remember to go in before midnight to ‘cash out’.

Another easy app. It is a daily click off but it is very simple. I do mine before I go to bed. Usually simple questions regarding the day: “How did you sleep”, “How is your stress level”, etc. Each question gives you ‘points’. Once you reach 10,000 points you can ‘cash out’ to PayPal. You can get extra points for logging in everyday, random surveys, and reading articles.

Upside

4. Upside – Medium
The only reason I rated this app a medium is due to having to remember to open the app when gassing up. The app uses GPS to track your location to find the closest participating locations.
You have to have a card on file and once you pay you can log on to the app and click on to the participating location. Every location is different and usually it is a so much cents per gallon bought. Some gas station locations have an option to earn a percentage of money back depending on how much you spend. Depending on the area some places have restaurant offers as well. Then once the payment is complete within 48 hours you’ll receive your money back.

5. Cashwalk – Easy
Cashwalk is an app that tracks your steps by your phones pedometer. After every 100 steps you get a treasure chest which equals 1 coin, which has to be redeemed by 1159 every night. 5k coins equals $5. That seems like a lot but between the other ways to earn it can go quiet fast.
Somewhat a passive income if you get enough referrals.

This app is one I have used for years. Everyone goes to stores, which means everyone has receipts. This app is very easy to use. You just take pictures of receipts and then they upload. The only catch is you have to upload the receipts within 2 weeks.
Yes all of these do take SOME effort. Mainly needing to remember to open the app – click or answer questions. Nothing that takes to terribly long but can aid in some spending money. Everything helps no matter how small. One way to start a savings account without taking away from your pay checks.
